How can a stage actor keep from perspiring? An actor is performing in a stage play in Southern California in early September when the temperature regularly breaks 100 degrees; his role requires him to wear a wool suit and the theatre A/C is modest at best. How can he keep from obviously perspiring? His costume is soaked through after the first 10 minutes and his face drips like he just climbed out of a pool. We've even tried using anti-perspirant under his makeup but all to no effect. Any ideas out there? The actor is on stage for 97 straight minutes - beginning of show to end, so their is no opportunity for him to cool down during a break. The kids wanted to have some cool dying scenes so I introduced the idea of blood and murder. Child enrichment programs such as dance and singing that require parents to pony up $$$ on costumes and venue? 1-What do you think of them? 2-How can you convince these groups that parents don't want all this hooplah without having to take your kids out? 3-Are there any programs these days that consider families and don't exploit their financial resources? There is tuition + professional costumes: $50 to over $100. + parents' financial participation in the rentals of professional forums for the kids' performance. And even though parents pay for the venue, they are required to buy tickets to see their children perform. Example: $15 per person (no discount for kids). That means for many families: $45-$60 on average to watch their children on stage for no more than 3 minutes. Not done yet! Parents are often required to supply baked goods and concessions to sell at these events, and are not allowed to videotape their kids' performance. Another $25 for a generic DVD that the program puts together! No other options in this area except NOT enrolling my daughter in any enrichment programs. I'm not mentioning a "fancy" one. This example is a TYPICAL one. ALL programs, including city programs are outrageous. My main question is, how can you get these programs to just offer a creative service to children without all that extra hooplah. Who needs professional costumes and a professional theater to perform in? It makes it out of reach for many children to access the arts. You either have to be on Welfare or have a lot of extra income.

I have a program where someone is credited under "REGIA", which I always thought was the director, but then there's also a producer and a stage director credited under different names. I'm in a magic show at a renaissance faire. myself and another person are "assistants" and I want to make a new costume so I can wear a different one each day.
