What do strippers wear when they perform on stage?

I actually want serious answers - so, if you're going to make some joke about them not wearing anything... I've already heard them all. What do strippers usually wear when they perform on or off stage? Are stupid costumes a common thing or is regular lingerie more popular?

4. some wear costumes but most I have ever seen wear sexy lingerie something easy to take off and something that doesn't leave much for the imagination

7. thong or t-bar and pastie. they are there for a strip performance in a club. many states try to prohibit full nudity, even though the supreme court allows it as artistic expression. usually , any club that serves alcohol have regulations limiting the girls to thong or t bar to avoid most of their drinking clientele from getting to frisky. full nudity is allowed at private clubs, that are alcohol free. performers have a stage and brass pole to use to vary their performances, lap dancers may require a t bar. glitzy costumes are there for window dressing and part of the entertainmant scenario.
8. Sometimes it depends on the club. Some clubs require an elegant gown, while most allow the dancers to express their own style. They are trying to make money by appearing sexy to customers, so whatever is sexy (clothes/lingerie, shoes/platforms, and makeup) is what they wear.
9. I'm a dancer... I buy my outfits from a dancer supply store. Wearing regular underwear is tacky. Im sure a lot of girls do it, but who wants to watch a hot girl dance in Fruit of the Looms. Same with shoes. Buy some sexy "stripper" shoes, and make sure they are comfortable! Unless I have some sort of themed costume, I avoid wearing regular clothes, unless its something I take off to reveal whats underneath (if anything). If you pay good money to get into a club, or want to pay for dances, tip, etc. wouldn't you want to be with a dancer that looked the part and had something sexy that you don't see at home on your wife or g/f??
