Adult Costume Ideas

How many old stage costumes do you have, and what kind? Can you add them to everday fashion? The truth here!?

Do you have any antique theater and acting memoribeilia or clothing? What kind?

  1. I have an old 1920's man's vest. It's worn out all to pieces now but I used to wear it when I played in a couple of bands. Some theatre buddies and I had formed a group and I was given the vest as part of my stage outfit. It has a very old west style to it and I wore it everyday to work, too (had a catering business), as well as in a couple of movies. It's so old now I don't dare risk destroying it further. I also have a very sophisticated black satin crepe dress from the 1930's, spaghetti straps, tight fitting with "wings" (gathered lenghts of the same material that go from just beneath the shoulder blades to just under the butt). I've worn it on stage as well as to the theatre. Very versatile but hard to walk in, tight around the knees, ya know. I used to have a lot more but gave them back to the theatre. I'm not much of a clothes horse. In fact, I'm not one at all.
  2. I have about 5 or 6 theater clothing. My dad always buys me this clothing because I'm in my school's Drama club and we usually do plays that take place in the early 1900s (Annie, the Music Man, etc.) Most of these costumes probably wouldn't be worn today (except for onstage and stuff.) At least, I can't imagine them being worn today! I have lots of long skirts (yes, long skirts are still worn today. but trust me, my long skirts are SUPER- OLD- FASHIONED!) I have some button-down, dress shirts (not so old but they still go with the costume.) And I also have this really flowery long-sleeved dress. Other than that, I do have this kimono that is really pretty that matches my purse. LOL!
